Barcelona striker target not willing to wait until July/August to sort future

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (h/t Reshad Rahman) has offered an update on the future of Vitor Roque. The Brazilian has been identified as a crucial target for Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window, with many viewing him as the ideal long-term solution in the offensive unit.

As per Romano, Roque has his heart set on a move to Barcelona. He has said it publicly multiple times, but more importantly, he has maintained a similar stance even in private channels.

However, Vitor Roque does not want to wait until July or August to secure a move to Catalonia. He wants to move to the city as soon as possible, as the club prepare for the new season ahead.

Barcelona, though, are in a precarious position. The club are facing immense pressure to fix their finances and reduce a chunk of their expenditure. The board members are working overnight to find economic solutions that will allow them to sign new players in the coming summer.

But with Lionel Messi’s return one of the priorities, coupled with the operations to sign Inigo Martinez and Ilkay Gundogan, it may take some time for Barça to make provision for Vitor Roque.

The club are in contact with La Liga officials, seeking clearance over their transfer market activity. The process may take some time and stretch till July or August, potentially impacting the club’s pursuit of Vitor Roque

As far as the Brazilian is concerned, he is keen on joining Barça. But the player has also been courted by other European giants including Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. So might be a tricky few months ahead of Barcelona as they look for market solutions to sign the young Brazilian.
