Manchester United team news ahead of Barcelona clash: Three stars doubtful to feature

Barcelona’s incredible winning run came to an end when they drew with Manchester United last week. But the Blaugrana returned to their original groove at the weekend, securing a win over Cadiz.

They will now hope to maintain the winning momentum when they take on Manchester United once again in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League tie on Thursday. A win will be a must for the Catalans if they are to proceed further in the competition.

Heading into this game, Manchester United have released early team news, offering updates on the condition and the availability of their star players.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are set to remain out on the sidelines due to injuries, with the latter out for the season.

The Premier League giants may also miss out on the services of Harry Maguire, Antony, and Anthony Martial. All three of the players were missing from the 3-0 win over Leicester City and are doubts heading into this clash against Barcelona.

However, Manchester United will be boosted by the return of Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer. They both missed the first leg due to European suspensions, but are in contention to feature in the second leg at Old Trafford.

Another returning player could be Scott McTominay. The midfielder had featured as a substitute in the win over Leicester City. He is an option for Erik ten Hag as well when Man United take on Barcelona this midweek.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are set to miss out on Ousmane Dembele once again, along with Pedri. But Sergio Busquets is back in the fold after being given a breather in the win over Cadiz at the weekend.
