Football’s transfer market is flooding with Brazilin talents at the moment, and now that Endrick’s transfer to Real Madrid is sealed, the focus now shifts towards a certain Vitor Roque.
The 17-year-old Athletico Paranaense forward is currently the man of the hour and if reports are to be believed, Barcelona are among several other European heavyweights, including Real Madrid and Chelsea, who are currently assessing his option.
Barcelona’s name in Roque’s transfer is topping the list but all that could change now that Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race as well, reports Globo. The outlet further claims that PSG have even enquired about the availability of the youngster.
Furthermore, it also states that Real Madrid recently sent their scouts to ‘closely monitor the player’s evolution’. All this because his style of resonates to that of Neymar and this is why he has earned the nickname ‘The New Ney’ in the local press.
For now, none of the aforementioned teams have launched an official proposal as everyone understands the situation is very delicate.
The 17-year-old’s contract with the Brazilian team runs until 2027 and Athletico owns 100% of the player’s rights. On top of that, it is believed that his termination clause is set at €100 million to fend of any interest from Europe.
It must be noted that Roque will only turn 18 in February 2023, meaning that even if a team manages to strike a deal, the player will only become an official member of the squad in the summer transfer window.
Among the teams monitoring his growth, there is absolutely no doubt that he has what it takes to succeed in Europe. After all, he is currently the most expensive signing in Athletico’s history.
The year 2022 has been a breakthrough tenure for the young gun as he has gone on to score seven goals for his team. Two of them came in the Copa Libertadores while five came in Brasileirao. His performance also earned him a place in the top six list of the best player award for the 2022 Libertadores.
