Official: Pedri’s strike vs Sevilla voted as Barcelona’s Best Goal of the Year for 2022

With 2022 set to end in a couple of weeks, FC Barcelona ran a poll for the fans to vote for the Best Goal of the Year scored by a Blaugrana star.

There were several strong contenders for the honour, but it is Pedri’s stunning strike from outside the box in La Liga against Sevilla that has been voted as the Best Goal of 2022 by the Culers.

Jordi Alba’s volleyed strike against Atletico Madrid last season was nominated along with Frenkie de Jong’s lovely effort versus Napoli in the UEFA Europa League. Ousmane Dembele’s thunder-strike against Athletic Club was also in the running for the honour.

Pedri, apart from the goal that won the prize, had another nomination in the form of his twinkle-toed effort against Galatasaray in the Europa League as well.

Ferran Torres’ strike vs Real Madrid last season, Ansu Fati’s effort in the game against Real Sociedad this term and Memphis Depay’s goal against Elche were also nominated.

Robert Lewandowski was also in the running for his goal against RCD Mallorca while Raphinha’s sensational header against Osasuna was also up for the honour

But, ultimately, it was Pedri’s effort against Sevilla, when he sat down two opponents with his silky footwork before firing the ball into the bottom corner that has been voted as Barcelona’s Best Goal of the Year for 2022.
