Video: Messi’s ridiculous solo assist for Alvarez’s goal; Argentina 3-0 Croatia

Lionel Messi weaved his magic once again by creating a sublime assist for Julian Alvarez’s second goal of the night.

The Argentine started his run from almost the halfway line, taking on Josko Gvardiol, who had been one of the defenders of the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup.

But Messi was able to beat the Croatian effortlessly, along with two other defenders to get into the box. He then produced a clever ball to Alvarez, who was waiting near the penalty area.

The Manchester City starlet, who had already been a catalyst in Argentina’s dominance, made no mistake in converting the chance and giving his side a comfortable 3-0 lead as we head towards the final phase of the game.

Earlier in the game, Messi had scored the opener, which turned out to be his 11th goal for Argentina in the World Cup, beating the record of Gabriel Batistuta.
