Barca back out of Endrick transfer race, reason revealed

Barcelona will not be involved in the transfer race to sign Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick anymore, claims Marca

The Blaugrana feel that they can’t afford the young Brazilian and are backing out of the pursuit. Palmeiras are expected to want at least €60m to let him go.

They were interested in signing the forward for a long time, having even brought him to Spain to check out their facilities and stadium.

But the club currently doesn’t have the funds to find a transfer agreement with the 16-year-old, who can only move to a top European club in 2024.

What they are now hoping is that Endrick will hold out for an agreement with a top club until he turns 18. In that case, Barca could strongly contest for his signing in 2024.

However, that’s unlikely to happen as the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and PSG are leading the race for his acquisition and are expected to offer him lucrative terms to join them.
