The match between Spain and Germany ended in a 1-1 draw. Six Barcelona players were involved in the game, and some did better than others.
Jordi Alba – 8.5
The veteran left-back was great on both ends of the pitch tonight. Alba delivered the assist to Alvaro Morata, provided two key passes and recorded a dangerous shot from outside the box.
Jordi’s defensive numbers are very solid, as he has 5 tackles, 7/11 duels won, one clearance, and one interception to his name.
Pedri – 7
The 20-year-old was more focused on possession today, with 58/64 passes and 7/7 long balls completed. However, Pedri wasn’t too dangerous going forward and recorded 0 shots and 0 key passes.
Gavi – 7
Gavi had a strange role tonight – he did a lot of running and pressing but wasn’t too involved in the build-up. The Barca midfielder registered just 9/12 passes in 66 minutes, rather atypical of him.
However, the 18-year-old was a monster defensively – 4 tackles, one clearance, and 7/11 duels won while playing in midfield is massive.
Sergio Busquets – 6
The veteran struggles against high-intensity teams and Germany proved it once again. Busquets was okay with his passes but had a tough time defensively, getting outran and outmuscled by the opponents. At the very least Luis Enrique should be happy that Sergio lost the ball just four times.
Ferran Torres – 3
Ferran couldn’t dribble past a German defender to save his life. His passes were off (11/20 completed) and he took too much time on the ball, hence both of his shots were blocked. Torres was the first player taken off by the coach and deservedly so.
Alejandro Balde – 6
The youngster came on as a late sub for Alba and spent around 15 minutes on the pitch. Unlike in the previous game, Alejandro didn’t have a significant impact. However, he didn’t do anything wrong either, completing 8/9 passes and registering one tackle.
Eric Garcia and Ansu Fati were unused subs.
