For a top European club like Barcelona, shirt sales contribute to a significant chunk of the revenue. Though Lionel Messi’s departure was expected to harbour a steep fall in the same, the Catalans’ jersey is still amongst the top-selling commodities in the world of football.
Needless to say, a lot of thought goes into the very selection of the colour palate and design templates of various kits year after year to make them appealing to the public. As we head into the International break, Footy Headlines gives an update on Barcelona’s third kit for the upcoming season
According to the leaks, the Azulgranas’ third kit for the 2023-24 season will be primarily mint coloured which the source also describes as a light Aqua blue shade. This will be coupled with hints of black, presumably at the collar and sleeves as the second colour.
No information as to the template or design have been leaked yet for the third kit, though several leaks have confirmed the exact look of the home and away kits for 2023-24. As it stands, the mint-coloured kit is expected to be launched in September 2023.
Barcelona have used a similar gradient in the past, in the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons as the third kits.
Ironically, an identical mint theme was used by Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid for their third kit in 2019-20, albeit in a more greenish tinge.
A similar aqua-blue colour kit is visible in Inter Milan’s away kit this season and the Catalans’ uniform is expected to be along the same lines. Nevertheless, not much can be said about the early leaks, for the template could make it a winner.
