In his interview with Diario Sport, Joan Laporta was asked whether he was happy with Barcelona’s summer signing after investing more than €200m in them.
All the signings are meeting expectations. There are players who, due to different circumstances, we have not been able to see at their best, such as Christensen, Kessie or Bellerin. But we have full confidence in them,” Laporta said.
“Raphinha is a great addition, who gives us strength and makes the difference on the wing, along with Dembele, whom we have renewed.
“The incorporation of Lewandowski has been essential to complete this squad and turn it into a team that can achieve a lot of success.
“Kounde has been a great success. From the first moment, he has earned the trust of all Barcelona fans because of how reliable he is. He is a very consistent centre-back.
“Marcos Alonso, whom we signed as a full-back, has had to play [at centre-back] and he is doing it excellently.
“Pablo Torre is a very young player but one that Xavi is following closely and is giving him minutes.”
Out of all the players mentioned, only Lewandowski, Dembele and Kounde (when fit) have been regular starters. However, Christensen and Alonso have proved reliable when counted on. Raphinha, especially in recent weeks, has been proving his worth as well
