Gerard Pique is set to appear in his last game for Barcelona when they take on Almeria on Saturday.
It will be an emotional affair for the defender, who has recently announced his retirement from professional football.
Barcelona have a host of things planned for Pique’s last game at Camp Nou, including a special shirt to mark the defender’s contributions to the club.
The new shirt will include the message ‘SEMPR3’ at the top to honour Pique, who dons the number three shirt for the club and has featured in 600 competitive matches for the Blaugrana. All the players are set to wear the commemorative shirt during the Almeria game.
Barcelona players are also set to wear training kits bearing Pique’s name on them while a giant canvas bearing the ‘SEMPR3’ wording will be displayed before the start of the game.
Following the match, the legend will take a lap of honour around the stadium to acknowledge the fans.
Pique confirmed his decision to hang up his boots on Thursday night, an announcement that came as a huge shock to the footballing community. Barcelona will be hoping to give him a fitting farewell with a win against Almeria.
