Xavi rates De Jong performance against Real Sociedad

Frenkie de Jong replaced suspended Sergio Busquets in an experimental 3-5-2 against Real Sociedad. Despite the Dutchman costing Barcelona a goal, Xavi seemed satisfied with his performance.

“I’ve seen a very good Frenkie, despite him losing the ball which led to a goal,” the coach said in the post-match interview.

“We need to improve in a lot of things. It’s true that De Jong lost that ball, but he also did things very well.”

Frenkie looked lost against La Real, especially in the first half. However, it seems like Xavi’s main goal was to stop Real Sociedad’s midfield, and Frenkie did help with that after the break.
