Chelsea poised to table €24 million initial offer for Barcelona attacker

A recent report from Toni Juanmarti has offered an update on the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Chelsea frontman has become a subject of interest for Chelsea this summer, with the Premier League giants currently in the market for a new number nine after sanctioning the exit of both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

It has effectively left Thomas Tuchel without any proper goalscoring option heading into the new season, thus accentuating the need for someone like Aubameyang.

Tuchel knows Aubameyang well during his time at Borussia Dortmund. The Gabonese international had even netted as many as 79 goals in 95 competitive matches under the German tactician, establishing himself as one of the finest goalscorers in Europe.

Tuchel is hoping Aubameyang can replicate the form at Stamford Bridge and is pushing Chelsea to make a move in the coming days.

According to Toni Juanmarti, the Blues are prepared to table an offer as well. They are willing to splash a figure of around €19 million for the former Dortmund starlet, with an additional €5 million in performance-related variables.

The Spanish journalist further suggests Aubameyang and Chelsea are “on track” when it comes to negotiations over personal terms.

The Barcelona forward, after all, is set to be handed a contract that doubles the salary he currently earns at Camp Nou. Such an offer should be enough to convince the striker to move to Stamford Bridge, even though he has shown no desire to do so, for the time being.

A lot could be unveiled in the coming days as Chelsea look to push forward with their operation to sign Aubameyang, whose departure could go a long way in helping Barcelona in the pursuit of their own top targets in the market, including Bernardo Silva
