Barcelona set to accelerate moves for €100 million Premier League star next week

FC Barcelona have recently managed to register four of their new signings in the form of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

The players have been registered just in time for the club’s season opener against Rayo Vallecano later this evening. Jules Kounde was the only notable player missing out as the Frenchman was coming back from an injury, and as such, his registration was not prioritised.

Nevertheless, Barcelona are expected to step up their efforts in registering him in the coming days.

At the same time, the Catalans could remain alert in the transfer market, even after signing no less than six top-quality players in the month of July. The club are already in the market for a new right-back, amid worries over the performances and development of Sergino Dest.

According to David Bernabeu Reverter, Barcelona are keeping close tabs on Bernardo Silva as well. The Portuguese international remains Xavi’s top target this summer as the Barcelona coach rates him extremely highly.

Xavi even considers Silva as the ideal midfield partner for Pedri in the interior position, with Sergio Busquets serving as the main number six.

The Spanish journalist suggests Barcelona continue to harbour the hopes of signing Silva this month. They may even end up making a move for the Manchester City superstar next week, as part of their attempts to shore up the creative department.

The Blaugrana have recently sanctioned a loan move for Nico Gonzalez to Valencia. Alex Collado could follow suit as well, thus accentuating the need for creativity in the final third.

Although Bernardo Silva could be an unrealistic option at this age, it is fair to point out that Barcelona have pulled off multiple miracles in this transfer window, and a lot more could yet be possible as we head toward the final few weeks of August.
