According to ESPN journalist Samuel Marsden, Frenkie de Jong’s entourage have made it clear to Barcelona that he doesn’t want to leave.
His agents have also told the Blaugrana and Chelsea not to use intermediaries in any talks after Joan Laporta tried to involve super-agent Pini Zahavi in negotiations.
There is a feeling that doing such things will only hinder the possibility of De Jong’s departure.
Frenkie wants to remain at the Camp Nou this season and is refusing to leave despite interest from the Premier League sides.
Barca have told him to take a 50% pay cut to stay, but the Dutchman has yet to commit to that.
De Jong also wants to get his deferred wages of over €15m from the club, who have also threatened to take legal action against him for his ‘illegal’ contract
