Former Chelsea winger Joe Cole doesn’t believe that Real Madrid will be among the favourites to win the Champions League this season.
He told BT Sport: “I still think Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich above them.
“They won the Champions League and you have to give them massive credit, they’re absolutely world-class players with a world-class manager. But think about all the stars that had to align for them to do that.
“The game against Chelsea, the game against Man City, even the final… [Thibaut] Courtois had to have the game of his career. Can they do that again?”
Ironically, Los Blancos defeated three of the four mentioned teams to win the Champions League last season – despite being written off by many pundits like Cole.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side will push to retain their European title this season to clinch their record-making 15th Champions League title.
