Barca are not going to make another offer. The player is not willing to extend his current deal – which expires in 2023 – so the Catalans would rather sign him as a free agent in January.
As a reminder, Barcelona are still looking for a left-footed centre-back. Such a player could help Xavi if he decides to switch to a three-at-the-back formation from time to time.
