Pjanic reportedly tells Xavi he’s ready to accept pay cut and stay at Barca

Miralem Pjanic has contacted Xavi to tell the coach that he is ready to accept a pay cut in order to continue at Barcelona, Mundo Deportivo’s Roger Torello (4 stars) claims.

Barca’s original plan was to offload Pjanic because of his high wages. If the Bosnian lowers his salary and Xavi decides to count on him, however, they would be ready to keep the 32-year-old.

Miralem’s priority is to stay and fight for a place on the team. He formed a strong bond with Xavi during pre-season and the coach praised the midfielder’s performances.

Pjanic was tested in Sergio Busquets’s position during pre-season and did a great job, impressing the fans. Now it remains to be seen what Xavi’s decision will be.
