Chelsea have agreed the deal to sign Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.
The story was broken by Fabrizio Romano who has unleashed his trademark ‘here we go’. It has been confirmed by The Athletic and ESPN as well.
Chelsea are set to pay a base fee of $10 million (₤8.2m) that could rise to $15m (₤12.3m) with add-ons.
Slonina will spend the rest of the year with Chicago Fire on loan and join Chelsea on January 1. This means that he won’t be the Blues’ backup keeper in the first half of this coming season if Kepa completes his move to Napoli.
