Barcelona offered the chance to sign 25-year-old Bundesliga left-back

Barcelona have completed most of their incoming transfers this summer window, signing Jules Kounde, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen, and Franck Kessie. They have at least two more goals before they can call curtains on that front.

One of them, rather publicly at this point, is Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta. The other is signing a left-back with the prime target being Marcos Alonso.

However, signing the Spanish left-back is rather difficult, and consequently, Barça, have shifted their focus on other players. Luckily, they have been offered the services of RB Leipzig’s Angelino, as per a report published by SPORT.

The 25-year-old is a product of Manchester City’s academy, but finally broke the news with this move to RB Leipzig in 2019/20, when he registered a goal and two assists, while averaging 1.7 chances created per game through 13 appearances.

His end product has since increased, and last season he ended up with two goals and five assists in 29 games. He also created 11 big chances through this time span.

The report published claims that Angelino wants to return to Spain, even though his only playing time in his homeland was in La Liga 2 on loan at RCD Mallorca.

Leipzig have recently acquired the services of Hoffenheim left-back David Raum for a sum north of €25 million, which gives Angelino the free route to the exit door.

Barcelona believe he could be a ‘low-cost’ alternative, and even available on loan, with a purchase option/obligation. Being Spanish, Angelino would fit in well at the club, and could learn an awful lot from Jordi Alba, whose style he matches.
