Barcelona will ‘try their best’ to sign Bernardo Silva this summer

Barcelona have once again dominated the headlines in the transfer market this week by announcing the capture of Jules Kounde.

The Frenchman is the club’s sixth major signing of the month, joining an elite list involving the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele, among a few others.

However, according to COPE journalist Helena Condis, Barcelona have not given up their market activity just yet. They are open to signing a few more players, with Bernardo Silva emerging as one of the targets.

Condis suggests Barça are open to the opportunity to sign the Manchester City playmaker, as they look to find avenues to replace Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutch international has been heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou, with the player facing internal pressure to leave the club. Barcelona consider his sale vital in their bid to register the new signings, including Kounde.

However, there is no secret that Xavi Hernandez rates the midfielder highly and as such, he is looking for a top-quality player to replace the Dutchman.

That is where Bernardo Silva comes into the fray. The Portuguese international is one of the players Xavi rates highly, with the Barcelona coach considering him as an ideal partner for Pedri in the interior midfield position.

Hence, Barcelona are actively looking for an opportunity to sign Bernardo Silva, especially after today’s revelation that suggests Manchester City are ready to cash in on the midfielder for a fee of around €80 million.

Barcelona are reportedly one of two clubs to have been handed the opportunity to sign the former AS Monaco starlet, although the Catalans could certainly find a hard time funding the move for the player
