Four Clubs That Have Turned Down The Chance To Sign Ronaldo This Summer

The Manchester United’s star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been in the news for sometimes now. The Portuguese international has told the Manchester United’s management that he is ready to leave Old Trafford this summer because the team was inactive in the transfer market.

Following his request, the agent of the star player has been on the lookout for another club that will give the star player a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season. Remember, Manchester United finished sixth last season, and they can only play in the UEFA Europa League, Ronaldo’s favorite competition is the UCL, and he is ready to play in the UCL next season away from the Old Trafford.

The bad thing for Ronaldo and his agent is that, the five-time Ballon D’Or winner has been linked with a couple of top clubs in Europe and these clubs reportedly turned him down. These clubs are.

1. Chelsea; Ronaldo was linked with Chelsea, but the Blues were rather interested in signing Raheem Sterling ahead of Ronaldo.

2. Bayern Munich; Bayern Munich was also linked with Ronaldo to replace Robert Lewandowski who is on his way to Barcelona. But Bayern Munich is not interested in signing the 37-year-old as they now have Sadio Mane.

3. PSG; Ronaldo was also linked with Paris Saint German to play with Lionel Messi, but PSG has turned down the possibility of signing Ronaldo this summer.

4. Barcelona; the Spanish international was said to be linked with Cristiano Ronaldo. But the team is obviously not interested in the Portuguese international. Barcelona’s full attention is on Robert Lewandowski who is close to becoming a full Barcelona’s player in a couple of days.

With this development, the Portuguese star will likely be at Manchester United until the end of the next season. The big question is, will Erik Ten Hag be fair to Ronaldo next season after he told the club that he was ready to leave the club?
